A UP court will hear the bail plea of self-proclaimed BJP worker Shrikant Tyagi. He was arrested by the police for allegedly abusing and assaulting a woman at his Noida housing society.
The hearing on the bail plea filed by self-proclaimed BJP worker Shrikant Tyagi, who was arrested by the UP Police on August 9, will be heard today, August 11, at Surajpur court in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida.
Shrikant Tyagi was arrested by the police for allegedly abusing and assaulting a woman at his Noida housing society. As many as 12 police teams and the Uttar Pradesh STF searched for Shrikant Tyagi across three states. He was traced to Meerut, where police arrested him and three of his associates on Tuesday.
During the bail hearing in court today, the police will present the case diary and documents related to the case.
Noida Police booked Tyagi under Indian Penal Code section 354 (assault or use of criminal force on any woman, intending to outrage or knowing it to be likely that he will thereby outrage her modesty). Later, charges under IPC sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult to provoke breach of public peace), 506 (criminal intimidation), 447 (criminal trespass) were also added in the case.
He was also slapped with the Gangster Act, following which Noida Authority rolled out bulldozers and razed the illegal structures he had put up outside his apartment at the Grand Omaxe housing society.
Shrikant Tyagi has been lodged in Luxor Jail’s high security ward in Noida.
According to the sources, Shrikant Tyagi, who commutes in VVIP vehicles and lives in a flat worth crores, slept on the floor in the high security ward of Luxor Jail in Noida.
