He promised to come home for son's birthday: Wife of soldier killed in Manipur ambush

Martyred Assam jawan's wife said that her husband had promised to return for their son's birthday next month. The jawan was killed in a militant attack on Saturday in Manipur.

Assam Rifles Jawan Suman Swargiary was one of the deceased in a militant attack in the Singhat sub-division of Manipur's Churachandpur district.

He hailed from Thekerakuchi Kalibari village near the Barama area in Baksa district and had joined Indian Army in 2011. Militants had earlier killed his father Kanak Swargiary in 2007. Suman had last visited home in July this year.
