During the hearing, the bench referred to a recent opinion article written in a national newspaper by a colleague of Hany Babu's lawyer, senior counsel Yug Chaudhry.
While hearing the medical bail plea of Delhi University associate professor Hany Babu, the Bombay High Court on Thursday asserted that it passes its orders without any fear or pressure. "We aren't afraid of anybody. The law and facts of a case are what matters. We aren't afraid of anyone. We aren't under any pressure. Take this word from our side," the court said. Hany Babu, an accused in the Elgar Parishad case, is reportedly suffering from an acute infection and gradual loss of vision in his left eye since May 3. He has been in custody since July 2020 after he was arrested by the National Investigating Agency (NIA) on July 28, 2020 in the Elgar Parishad case. This matter was earlier being investigated by the Pune Police.More Related News
