UP Police arrested two men who allegedly fired upon the car in which AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi was travelling on Thursday. Here's what India Today's investigation has revealed about them.
Uttar Pradesh Police arrested two suspects in connection with an attack on the convoy of AIMIM chief and Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi in Hapur on Thursday.
An FIR has been lodged and the two accused, identified as Sachin and Shubham, have been booked under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC.
Uttar Pradesh ADG (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar said the two accused will be presented in Hapur court on Friday and police would seek their custody. Investigation is at a preliminary stage and other facts and details of the case would be shared at a press conference later today.
Accused Sachin lives with his family in Badalpur in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. He said he has an LLM (Master of Laws) degree, a claim the police is currently verifying. Sachin has been booked under Section 307 for his alleged involvement in the attack on Owaisi.
A perusal of his Facebook page titled ‘Deshbhakt Sachin Hindu’ reveals that most of his posts had nationalistic overtones or expressed bigoted sentiments. On June 1, 2018, he posted a photo of Asaduddin Owaisi with a sword superimposed and pointed at the AIMIM chief.
In another post, he wrote: “PM Modi, put RDX bomb on me and toss me into Pakistan, I’m ready. To repay the sacrifice made by the brave soldiers for Mother India. Deshbhakt Sachin Hindu.”
