Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said that the state will be coming up with an institute to train drone pilots.
The state of Haryana is going to come up with an institute for training drone pilots, as announced by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday. The chief minister further announced that the new institute will be developed under the Drone Imaging and Information Service of Haryana Limited (DRIISHYA). The decision of establishing the institute was taken during DRIISHYA’s second board of directors meeting which was chaired by Harayana CM Manohar Lal Khattar.
During the meeting, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar was informed of the need to set up a separate corporation to speed up the UAV-driven mode of governance in Haryana.
The Haryana CM went on to remark, “This is a unique beginning in the state as now with the help of drones, illegal encroachments can also be controlled along with detecting expansion of area as earlier manual surveys were conducted at regular intervals which were very time consuming, costly, and required more manpower.”
Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar further directed officials to ensure quick disposal of surveys and imaging work while adding that drones should also be used in other departments apart from the revenue department, like urban local bodies, power, disaster management, mining, forest, traffic, town and country planning, and agriculture, among others.
