Women's World Cup 2022: 3 of Harmanpreet Kaur's 4 ODI hundreds have come at the showpiece events as the vice-captain said she is looking to build on the good form and continue contributing to the team in New Zealand.
Harmanpreeet Kaur said on Tuesday that she always wants to give her best for Team India and that she takes up that much more extra responsibility during the World Cups. The star India batter has been in fine form at the Women's World Cup 2022, overcoming a lean patch during which her place in the side was questioned.
Harmanpreet Kaur was dropped from the Indian XI for the 4th ODI of a 5-match series in New Zealand last month but the T20I captain has bounced back in style. She followed her 71 against New Zealand with a spectacular century (109 of 107) against West Indies.
Interestingly, 3 of Harmanpreet's 4 ODI hundreds have come at the World Cups as the vice-captain became the first Indian batter to hit more than 2 hundreds at the World Cups when she hit 109 against the West Indies.
Ahead of the crucial tie against England in Mount Maunganui, Harmanpreet said she will look to continue giving her best to the team.
“Big tournaments are always very important and where your role is more important. You need to take more responsibility and perform for your team," Harmanpreet said on the eve of India's 4th match at the Women's World Cup.
“I always want to give my best for my team but sometimes things don't go your way but I’ll make sure whenever we play the World Cup, I will be there always for my team and that is the reason,” she said.
