India all-rounder Hardik Pandya sent a heartfelt message to Jasprit Bumrah after the India pacer was ruled out of the T20 World Cup in Australia on Monday.
Bumrah was ruled out of the Asia Cup due to a back injury and made his return to the national side during the Australia series. He was also included in the squad for the T20I series against South Africa but had to be ruled out due to a recurrence of the back issue and was replaced by Mohammed Siraj.
There were doubts about the 28-year-old pacer's participation in the T20 World Cup, with BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and head coach Rahul Dravid expressing hope that he could make it on time.
However, on Monday, BCCI announced Bumah was ruled out of the tournament due to the injury.
"The BCCI Medical team has ruled out Team India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup squad. The decision was taken following a detailed assessment and in consultation with the specialists."
"Bumrah, was initially ruled out from the ongoing Mastercard 3-match T20I series against South Africa due to a back injury."
