Former England cricketer Tim Bresnan is of the opinion that India all-rounder Hardik Pandya needs to mature a bit more in order to become a top player.
2022 has been the year of resurgence for Pandya as he started off by guiding his IPL franchise, Gujarat Titans, to the crown in their maiden campaign. He carried the form on to the international circuit, enjoying memorable outings against the likes of South Africa, England, Ireland and the West Indies.
The all-rounder played a big role in India's win in the Asia Cup opener against Pakistan as he took three wickets and scored 33 runs to see the team home.
Speaking to PTI, as quoted by MyKhel, Bresnan said that a player like Pandya adds balance to the team and he is a very good athlete. The former England cricketer went on to say that the all-rounder needs to mature a bit more and then he can become a top player.
"Definitely, a pace bowling all-rounder is quite crucial, it balances your team, it gives you two cricketers in one."
"It's a tough position to play because you are always involved in the game, so it's quite demanding physically. Fast bowling all-rounders are worth the weight in gold.
