Filmmaker Hansal Mehta in his latest tweet talked about changing the laws regarding marijuana consumption in India. This came after Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan’s bail plea was reserved by the court on October 14.
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta took to his Twitter handle on Thursday, October 14 to speak about the need to decriminalise marijuana consumption in India. He also demanded a movement to change the laws regarding marijuana use in the country. This came after Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan’s bail plea was reserved by Judge V V Patil of a special court in the Mumbai cruise drugs case on Thursday. Other celebrities, such as Swara Bhasker and Rahul Dholakia also expressed disappointment regarding the same on social media. Marijuana/cannabis consumption is legal in many countries. It has been decriminalised in many. In our country its consumption is used more for harassment than for narcotics control. A movement like the one to abolish sec 377 is necessary to end this continuing travesty. And then we can be sure they will find yet another travesty. It is painful for a parent having to deal with a child getting into trouble. It gets compounded when people begin to arrive at judgements before the law takes its course. It is disrespectful and unfair to the parent and to the parent-child relationship. With you @iamsrk. #AryanKhan #AryanKhanBailPure harassment! I respect and support people doing their job, unfortunately this is not seeming to be about that.Disappointed with the decision of extending Aryan’s jail time. #AryanKhanBail Pics from #Mannat where our team gathered today to extend their support for King Khan @iamsrk & his family.#WeStandWithSRK #WeStandWithAryanKhan pic.twitter.com/Xpk9bpIepH
