Effects can last for upto 36 hours after consumption of alcohol, warns advisory
To ensure aviation safety is not compromised due to the consumption of alcohol of by pilots, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has issued revised guidelines for conducting pre-flight and post-flight breath analyser tests on the crew.
The country’s aviation regulator has said that even if the alcohol levels were zero in the body, the side effects of a hangover could affect flight safety.

A day after the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) under the Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs filed its final complaint against T. Veena, daughter of Kerala Chief Minister and Communist Party of India (Marxist) Polit Bureau member Pinarayi Vijayan, in the Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd (CMRL) pay-off case, the CPI(M) rallied behind Mr. Vijayan in solidarity. But there appeared to be serious differences of opinion in the top leadership of the party on the way to approach the case.
