The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday recovered Rs.91 lakhs in cash in Handwara narco-terrorism case from a dismissed BSF officer's agriculture land.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday recovered Rs.91 lakhs in cash in Handwara narco-terrorism case from a dismissed BSF officer's agriculture land. The money was found 7 feet under a freshly dug-up pit in a field in Gurwal village in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district. The sub-inspector (SI) Romesh Kumar had received the cash and proceeds of drugs, when he was on deputation with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), from narco-smugglers based in Kashmir valley for self as well as for further channelization to different terrorist entities. It was during interrogation of co-accused, the name of the officer cropped up, and his links with drug traffickers’ networks in Baramulla and Handwara regions emerged.More Related News
