Hand Over Shahjahan Sheikh To CBI Today: High Court To Bengal Government

Bengal Police have been given till 4.30 pm to hand over Sandeshkhali main accused Sheikh Shahjahan, as well as case materials and documents, to the CBI.

The Calcutta High Court has handed custody of former Trinamool strongman Sheikh Shahjahan - the key accused in multiple complaints of extortion, land grab, and sexual assault from Bengal's Sandeshkhali - to the CBI. The central agency will take over the case, Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam said Tuesday evening, giving Bengal Police till 4.30 pm to hand over Shahjahan and case materials.
