Hamilton police are looking for a stolen prop car from a Batman-related production filming in the city.
Const. Indy Bharaj told CBC Hamilton a rental company dropped off the vehicle near a film location on Main Street West, just east of Dundurn Street on Wednesday at roughly 6 p.m.
Police say it was a black 1979 Cadillac Fleetwood with fake Gotham City plates.
"It was noticed stolen when the rental company that dropped off the vehicle to the location was dropping off another vehicle at 9 p.m.," Bharaj said.
The rental company that owned the car said it's worth about $4,000.
Bharaj said there are no suspects at this time, but officers are canvassing the area for any video surveillance. Anyone with information should contact police, he said.
He also said he didn't know the name of the production filming, however a TV series called Gotham Knights is listed as in production in Ontario from April 11 to May 3 on the province's film and TV development site, Ontario Creates.
Some Hamilton residents have also reported seeing Batman-themed vehicles and props around the city in recent weeks, including at the Hamilton cemetery.
