Hamilton police have identified the victim of a drive-by shooting in the city's east end on Friday.
Investigators said in a release on Friday they responded to reports of a shooting near Cannon Street East and Barnesdale Avenue North at roughly 4:35 p.m.
Police said 18-year-old Yua Blut Kaw from Hamilton was walking in the Stipley neighbourhood when multiple shots were fired from a dark-coloured, four-door sedan.
He was taken to hospital and pronounced dead, according to police.
There are no suspect descriptions yet.
"There will be a heavy police presence in the area throughout the day as police canvass for witnesses and video surveillance," reads the release.
It is the city's 15th homicide of the year.
