Halifax Water asking some residents to temporarily reduce water usage

Halifax Water is asking residents of parts of some neighbourhoods near the Armdale Roundabout to reduce their water usage while they carry out repair work in the area.
While the utility began replacement work on a Chebucto Road water main Friday night, an unexpected repair was needed after a sewer pipe burst.
Spokesperson Brittany Smith said the utility brought in special trucks to handle the sewage.
Halifax Water is asking residents in some neighbourhoods to minimize their use of running water, toilet flushing and doing laundry. The utility said following these actions would reduce pressure on the wastewater system.
The affected areas include part of the Fairmount and Westmount neighbourhoods, as well as around Flinn Park and the Halifax Shopping Centre.
The recommendations apply to residents living in the shaded area below.
