Gupkar Alliance leaders including Dr Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti will meet with Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in Srinagar today to raise the issue of security of minority communities.
A delegation of the Gupkar Alliance leaders including Dr Farooq Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti, Mohammed Yousuf Tarigami and Muzaffar Shah will meet Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan to raise the issue of the security of minority communities.
The meeting comes after a Kashmiri Pandit government employee and a policeman were killed by terrorists.
Shooters entered the Tehsildar office in Chadoora and shot at Rahul Bhat, a clerk, on Thursday, May 12. Constable Riyaz Ahmad Thokar, who was shot in Gudoora in the same district a day later, succumbed to his injuries.
The Gupkar Alliance delegation will meet with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in Srinagar at 11.30 am. The leaders will raise the issue of the security of minority communities.
A delegation led by Jammu and Kashmir’s BJP Chief Ravinder Raina and other senior leaders of the party will also meet the LG today to discuss security-related issues.
Raina said Rahul Bhat’s murder had maligned humanity and brought shame to the whole society. Raina said that Rahul was “brutally” murdered by Pakistani-sponsored terrorists.
He said, “It is our prime responsibility to ensure the security of every community and we will press for all the issues before the LG. The issue has also been discussed with the Home Minister of India.”
