Gujarat govt signs MoU with L&T to set up IT, IT enabled services tech park in Vadodara

The Gujarat government has signed a memorandum of understanding with Larsen & Tubro to set up an IT technology park and an IT-enabled services technology park in Vadodra. The project will be developed in the next 5 years with an investment of Rs 7,000 crores.
Larsen & Toubro Limited and the Gujarat state government have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to set up an IT and IT-enabled service (ITeS) technology park in Vadodara. The MoU was signed in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and officers of L&T on Wednesday, August 1.
The Gujarat government has said that it will be a landmark in further developing the state’s IT ecosystem. L&T will develop this IT park in the next five years with an investment of Rs 7,000 crores.
The IT park will provide jobs for 2,000 engineers and other positions in just a single year. L&T is also planning to provide jobs to 10,000 people in direct and indirect employment in the next five years.
Under the leadership of Gujarat CM, the state government’s vision is to provide excellent IT infrastructure and create 1,00,000 IT jobs.
This policy has created an unprecedented attraction in the IT industry and many investors are eager to partner with the Gujarat government, said a government official.
The official further added that within the first six months of implementing the policy, the Gujarat government has signed MoUs with 13 leading local and global IT companies.
L&T will take a new step with the construction of IT/ITeS Technology Park in Vadodara, said the government official.
