The Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGCI) has denied claims that raided businessman Piyush Jain deposited Rs 52 crore as tax.
The Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGCI) has refuted claim that Uttar Pradesh businessman Piyush Jain, who was raided by tax officials recently, deposited Rs 52 crore as tax payment. The DGCI said Rs 197 crore cash seized from Piyush Jain during the raid was not his business turnover.
Earlier, Piyush Jain’s lawyer claimed that the businessman deposited Rs 52 crore as tax liability against his dues through an application before the court.
