Ground report: 22 dead in UP village, locals say Covid gloom set in when migrants returned home

At least 22 villagers have died of Covid-like symptoms at the small Nindura village in Gonda of Uttar Pradesh. Locals say once the migrant workers started returning home due to the lockdown, Covid spread became uncontrolled in the village.
Migrant workers, who returned from Mumbai to different villages of Uttar Pradesh to cast their votes in the panchayat elections, may have infected a large number of people in the rural belt. In Nindura village in Gonda of Uttar Pradesh, 22 people have died with Covid-like symptoms while no medical help reached them over days. While speaking to AajTak, villagers claimed that it was all good in the village before migrants from Mumbai returned after lockdown was imposed in Maharashtra. Villagers said that most came just to cast votes in the panchayat election and that became a reason of major concern in the village.More Related News
