Green candidate Mike Morrice leads in Kitchener Centre

Green party candidate Mike Morrice is in the lead Monday with about 32 per cent of the vote, after 35 polls of 216 were counted Monday evening in Kitchener Centre.
Conservative candidate Mary Henein Thorne is in second with about 23 per cent of the vote.
NDP candidate Beisan Zubi is in third with about 20 per cent of the vote.
Incumbent Raj Saini had about 18 per cent. Saini dropped out of the race early this month but his name remained on the ballot.
Diane Boskovic of the People's Party had captured about seven per cent of the votes and Ellen Papenburg of the Animal Protection Party had not yet reached one per cent of the vote.
As candidates in the riding knocked on doors this campaign, they were asked about climate crisis, housing, the opioid crisis and economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The candidates in Kitchener Centre were (in alphabetical order by last name):
