Three people, including a woman, have been arrested for extorting around Rs 3 lakh from a Jal Board officer after taking secret videos of him and physically assaulting him.
Three people, including a woman, have been arrested for extorting Rs 2,80,000 from a Jal Board officer after blackmailing him with video filmed in OYO room.
After he registered a complaint about the matter, police arrested the three accused and recovered the amount they had extorted from him from their possession. An additional Rs 50,000 was also recovered.
Station In-Charge of Beta 2, Anil Rajur, said that on March 10, a woman named Naina Choudhary had written a letter to the higher authorities, alleging that she had been raped. On investigation of the matter, it was learned that the whole case was a honey trap in which the woman, who was in need of money, had teamed up with two others to extort money from the victim.
The whole case had started in February when the accused, Naina, called the victim to Pari Chowk to meet from where they drove to Mathura and returned. Once back, the duo rented an OYO room for the night, during which he was secretly filmed.
Later, he was physically assaulted by the other two accused and was blackmailed by Naina’s fake husband for Rs. 15 lakh, out of which he paid about three lakhs via a bank transfer.
After receiving the first installment of money, the three accused repeatedly threatened the victim to implicate him for rape until he paid the remaining sum of money. The officer then lodged a complaint with the police who then arrested Naina along with her two accomplices.
It has been revealed that there were four more people involved, including the mastermind, Devendra Chaudhary, who are absconding.
