GRE Exam Duration To Be Reduced By Half From September, Result In 10 Days

While the earlier test duration used to be 3 hours and 45 minutes, the duration from September onwards will be 1 hour and 58 minutes. At present, the test takers get official scores within 15 days.

The Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) General Test will take less than two hours to complete from September, roughly half the time of the current test, the Educational Testing Service (ETS) announced today.

The test takers will also receive their official scores within 10 days.

Among the major changes being introduced in the test are -- removal of the "analyse an argument" task in the Analytical Writing section, reduced number of questions in quantitative and verbal reasoning sections and removal of "unscored" sections, the ETS said.
