Delhi air quality: CAQM lifts ban on construction, demolition, and BS III/IV vehicles in Delhi/NCR due to improved air quality.
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) on Sunday (January 12, 2025) lifted the ban on construction, demolition activities and plying of BS III petrol and BS IV diesel four-wheeler vehicles among others in Delhi and NCR with an improvement in air quality.
The curbs were part of a list of actions under “stage 3” of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), which is a set of emergency measures taken to reduce air pollution.
The Commission said that in pursuance of Supreme Court’s directions to impose GRAP measures, it was revoking the Stage-3 restrictions “owing to a western disturbance on 11-12th Jan, there were rains around Delhi-NCR and the AQI has shown a significant improvement”.
However, Stage-I and Stage-II measures will remain in effect, the order said.
