The defence ministry has decided to enhance the income criteria for granting family pensions to children and siblings suffering from any disability.
At present, a differently abled child or sibling of a dead pensioner is eligible for family pension if the individual’s income from sources other than the family pension is not more than Rs 9,000 along with the dearness allowance component.
