According to sources, the central government has ordered strict action against former NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede for "shoddy investigation" into the Aryan Khan drugs case.
The Union Home Ministry has asked a competent authority (Finance Ministry) to take appropriate action against former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) official Sameer Wankhede for his "shoddy investigation" into the Mumbai cruise drugs bust involving Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, government sources told India Today.
Sources also said that the Centre is already taking action in Sameer Wankhede's fake caste certificate case. Wankhede's fake caste certificate issue was brought to light by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik, who was later arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Sameer Wankhede, who was the NCB's former zonal director of Mumbai, had led the raid on the Cordelia cruise ship in October 2021 and arrested Aryan Khan along with 22 others.
Amid allegations of corruption against Sameer Wankhede, the case was transferred from the Mumbai zone to the central team of the NCB. Wankhede was removed from the case and a vigilance probe was initiated against him.
