A.P. Sustainable Electric Mobility Policy - 4.0 aims to make Andhra Pradesh a global EV manufacturing hub by 2047.

The government on Wednesday approved the operational guidelines for the implementation of the A.P. Sustainable Electric Mobility Policy - 4.0 2024-29 (SEMP). It reflects the State’s aspiration to become a global hub for high value electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing in India through strategic demand and supply initiatives with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality from the transport sector by 2047.
As a first step towards achieving that vision, the State had announced a wide range of incentives to encourage EV manufacturers, consumers, charging station providers, and vehicle scrap dealers in the SEMP published on December 11, 2024 for a period of five years.
As per G.O. Ms. No. 48, the SEMP provides incentives to EV component and battery manufacturers, charging station operators, EV users and recycling and scrapping facilities.
Additionally, there is a separate policy for the development of industrial parks (Private Parks Policy - 4.0), the guidelines for which are laid down under the Integrated Clean Energy Policy - 4.0. Due to the cross-cutting nature of the policy across various line departments, nodal agencies have been assigned tasks to execute interventions mentioned in the SEMP.
