GOP politicians demand information on security gaps in border protocols
NY Post
Top Republicans on the House Committee on Homeland Security are demanding answers on the Biden administration’s handling of the surge of illegal immigrants at the southern border, raising concerns that there are security gaps that could pose a national security risk.
The lawmakers led by Ranking Member John Katko (R-NY) sent a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra on Wednesday highlighting information gathered from a recent border trip where law enforcement officials expressed frustration with the administration’s policy changes. “Time and time again, frontline law enforcement, including the women and men of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), expressed their frustrations with new Biden Administration policies that place a stranglehold on their ability to do their jobs, put their safety at risk, and jeopardize the security of the homeland,” the letter said.More Related News
