GOP lawmakers blast Dems for ignoring the border crisis for 100 days

Republican lawmakers on the House Oversight Committee blasted the committee Democrats for ignoring their calls to hold a hearing on the crisis at the southern border for 100 days.

According to the release, Saturday will mark 100 days since the GOP members on the committee first called on Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., to hold a hearing on the crisis in early March. The lawmakers called for a hearing again later that month and then for a third time at the beginning of June, with the release noting that, during this time, "migrant children in custody have surged from about 7,000 to 20,000."
