Google Pixel 7 briefly appears on Amazon, price and release revealed
India Today
As per a screenshot, the Pixel 7 appeared briefly on Amazon. The alleged listing shows the smartphone at $599, which is roughly Rs 50,000, for the base 128GB model.
The Google Pixel 7 series will launch in India soon. The upcoming lineup that includes Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro is expected to make its debut on October 6. However, ahead of the official launch, the pricing of the regular mode has been tipped. It appears Google won't make any changes to the pricing of Pixel 7.
According to a screenshot by tech reviewer Brandon Lee on Twitter, the Pixel 7 appeared briefly on Amazon. The alleged listing shows the smartphone at $599, which is roughly Rs 50,000, for the base 128GB model. The listing also shows its sale date as October 13. The Google Pixel 7 series will reportedly feature the next-gen Tensor - Google's in-house chipset. The alleged Amazon listing highlights the same but does not specify the exact moniker of the chipset.
The price of the Pixel 7 Pro remains unclear.
This indicates that Google is not changing the price of the smartphone (at least, Pixel 7) this year since the Pixel 6 also launched at $599 last year. It will be interesting to see how the phone will be priced in India.
Google's last few Pixel phones were priced higher in India than the global variants. It might be the same case this year, since the Pixel 6a launched with an MRP 43,999. However, the Pixel 7 will be exciting for a lot of Android fans since it is the first Google flagship phone in India in some time. Google did not release the Pixel 5 and Pixel 6 series in the country.
Earlier this year, it unveiled the Pixel 6a, which is a toned-down version of the regular model. But this year, we are finally seeing a premium Google Pixel in India - Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. The company is yet to clarify whether it will launch the Pixel Watch in the country as well.
