Golden Jubilee: SSC batch of 1971 remembers war theatre

All 338 officers of the Short Service Commission 1971 batch, also known as the ‘Tenacious Tenners’, had scrambled to different parts of the country when the Indo-Pak war broke out in 1971.
The officers of the batch of the 1971 Short Service Commission (SSC) on Sunday observed the golden jubilee of their commissioning, marking 50 years since they were inducted into the Indian Army. This particular batch was special due to the time they had joined the army. The officers had the unique opportunity of taking part in the 1971 Indo-Pak war, which is also known as the ‘Bangladesh Liberation War’. All 338 officers, also known as the ‘Tenacious Tenners’, had scrambled to different parts of the country when the war broke out in 1971. Seven belonging to the ‘Tenacious Tenners’ died in the line of duty.More Related News
