On Tuesday, February 8, 2022, gold prices have recorded a hike and silver rates are retailing on the lower side of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX).
Witnessing a marginal hike of Rs 52 or 0.11 per cent, gold futures maturing on April 5, 2022, are retailing at Rs 48,300 per 10 grams.
Meanwhile, silver futures maturing on March 4, 2022, are trading at Rs 61,920 per kg on the MCX, recording a dip of Rs 143 or 0.23 per cent.
Notably, the prices of gold and silver stood at Rs 48,228 per 10 grams and Rs 62,035 per kg respectively when the market closed yesterday, February 7.
As per Reuters, gold prices were steady on Tuesday as inflationary pressures kept the safe-haven metal supported near previous session's one-week high, while market participants awaited U.S. inflation data, crucial for the Federal Reserve's tapering timeline.
As per the latest metal report, spot gold was steady at $1,821.26 per ounce, hovering close to Monday's high of 1,823.21. Meanwhile, U.S. gold futures were flat at $1,821.30.
In addition to this, silver rose 0.1 percent to $23.01 per ounce.
