Both gold and silver are trading on the lower side of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.
Witnessing a marginal drop of Rs 158 or 0.31 per cent, gold futures maturing on April 5, 2022, are retailing at Rs 51,437 per 10 grams on the MCX.
Meanwhile, the rate of silver futures, maturing on May 5, 2022, stood at Rs 68,144 per kg, recording a drop of 0.44 per cent or Rs 300.
Notably, the prices of gold and silver stood at Rs 51,564 per 10 grams and Rs 68,325 per kg respectively when the market closed on March 15.
As per Reuters, gold prices were flat on Wednesday, holding near a two-week low hit in the previous session, as investors refrained from making big bets ahead of a widely expected interest rate hike decision from the Federal Reserve to contain surging inflation.
As per the latest metal report, spot gold was little changed at $1,920.71 per ounce, after touching its lowest since March 1 at $1,906 in the last session. Meanwhile, U.S. gold futures fell 0.3 percent to $1,923.90.
In addition to this, spot silver was up 0.2 percent to $24.91 per ounce, among other metals.
