Both gold and silver are trading on the lower side of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Thursday, March 10, 2022.
Witnessing a marginal drop of Rs 276 or 0.52 per cent, gold futures maturing on April 5, 2022, are retailing at Rs 52,601 per 10 grams on the MCX.
Meanwhile, the rate of silver futures, maturing on May 5, 2022, stood at Rs 69,504 per kg, recording a drop of 0.68 per cent or Rs 475.
Notably, the prices of gold and silver stood at Rs 52,745 per 10 grams and Rs 69,575 per kg respectively when the market closed on March 9.
As per Reuters, gold prices fell on Thursday, as U.S. Treasury yields rose while investors opted for riskier assets amid a retreat in oil prices after the United Arab Emirates said it would help increase oil production, making safe-haven bullion less appealing.
As per the latest metal report, spot gold was down 0.8 percent at $1,975.69 per ounce, after prices slumped 1 percent earlier in the session. Meanwhile, U.S. gold futures were down 0.5 percent to $1,978.80.
In addition to this, spot silver shed 0.9 percent to $25.49 per ounce, among other metals.
