Witnessing a hike of Rs 423 or 0.83 per cent, gold futures maturing on April 5, 2022, are retailing at Rs 51,700 per 10 grams on the MCX.
Meanwhile, the rate of silver futures, maturing on May 5, 2022, stands at Rs 69,000 per kg, recording a jump of 1.65 per cent or Rs 1,111.
Notably, the prices of gold and silver stood at Rs 51,147 per 10 grams and Rs 67,304 per kg respectively when the market closed on March 16.
As per Reuters, gold prices were flat on Thursday, hovering near a three-week low touched in the previous session, after the U.S. Federal Reserve's interest rate hike lifted Treasury yields and the Russia-Ukraine peace talks also capped bullion's appeal.
As per the latest metal report, spot gold held its ground at $1,929.57 per ounce, after touching its lowest since Feb 28 at $1,894.70 on Wednesday. Meanwhile, U.S. gold futures rose 1 percent to $1,928.40.
In addition to this, spot silver was up 0.3 percent at $25.13 per ounce.
