Witnessing a marginal hike of Rs 18 or 0.04 per cent, gold futures maturing on April 5, 2022, are retailing at Rs 47,677 per 10 grams on the MCX.
Meanwhile, the rate of silver futures, maturing on March 4, 2022, stands at Rs 61,149 per kg, recording a slight jump of 0.08 per cent or Rs 46.
Notably, the prices of gold and silver stood at Rs 47,632 per 10 grams and Rs 60,976 per kg respectively when the market closed on January 28.
As per Reuters, gold prices were flat on Tuesday, as a weaker dollar countered concerns about potential interest rate hikes, while investors awaited a slew of economic data to gauge the strength of global economies.
As per the latest metal report, spot gold was little changed at $1,797.94 per ounce by 0140 GMT. Meanwhile, U.S. gold futures were up 0.2 percent at $1,799.10.
Notably, the dollar index moved away from multi-month peaks, as investors consolidated gains after the currency hit a 1-1/2-year high on Friday on expectations of a faster pace of rate hikes by the U.S. Federal Reserve.
