Witnessing a marginal hike of Rs 56 or 0.12 per cent, gold futures maturing on February 4, 2022, are retailing at Rs 48,000 per 10 grams on the MCX.
Meanwhile, the rate of silver futures, maturing on March 4, 2022, stands at Rs 62,222 per kg, recording a jump of 0.19 per cent or Rs 117.
Notably, the prices of gold and silver stood at Rs 47,910 per 10 grams and Rs 61,944 per kg respectively when the market closed on January 27.
As per Reuters, gold was flat on Friday, set for its sharpest weekly decline since November, as markets reconciled with the U.S. Federal Reserve's policy tightening plans that propelled the dollar index to a multi-month peak.
As per the latest metal report, spot gold was unchanged at $1,796.41 per ounce by 0109 GMT. Meanwhile, U.S. gold futures were up 0.2 percent at $1,796.00.
Notably, the metal fell about 2 percent for the week, it's worst fall since Nov. 26. Also, gold prices will be lower in 2022 and 2023, as central banks raise interest rates, news agency Reuters reported.
