Gold Cup Day: What's open and closed on P.E.I. on Friday, Aug. 16

Many people in Charlottetown and eastern P.E.I. will get this Friday off for Gold Cup Day, making up for the holiday others received the first Monday in August.
The Gold Cup Parade through Charlottetown begins at 10 a.m. on North River Road near the Simmons Sport Centre. It continues south to Brighton Road, then Euston Street. It turns right on Great George Street, right onto Grafton Street, then up Rochford Street, ending at the provincial government buildings.
Some downtown Charlottetown businesses may delay their opening until the parade is over, so it's best to call ahead.
Here are some of the hours for various businesses and services on Friday:
There are temporary changes to the T3 Transit schedule in Charlottetown for the morning of the Gold Cup Parade.
