Goa to start 'Pink Rickshaw' service to boost employment for women: CM

Soon, Goa will have women-run ‘Pink Rickshaw’ services that will open self-employment avenues for women. Currently, 17 women are being trained to get a job under this initiative.
Goa is all set to have a fleet of women-operated 'Pink Rickshaw' running on the streets.
The Chief Minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant, announced that in order to boost women's employment in the state, this new initiative has been launched.
The state government will launch a ‘Pink Rickshaw’ scheme for empowering women in Goa, through its Economic Development Corporation, said Goa CM on Thursday.
Partnered with the Rotary club for the initiative, the amount for the new fleet will be disbursed through the Chief Minister's Rojgar Yojana in Goa.
Talking about the same, CM Sawant revealed that around 17 women were currently undergoing training to get employed under the ‘Pink Rickshaw’ initiative.
He also revealed that the first fleet of the ‘Pink Rickshaw’ will feature around 14 women drivers.
