Virat Kohli got out cheaply against Rajasthan Royals in the second qualifier in the Indian Premier League on Friday, 27 May. He was caught behind by Prasidh Krishna.
Virat Kohli once again got out early in the Indian Premier League 2022, this time against Rajasthan Royals in the crucial Qualifier 2 on Friday, 27 May. Sent to bat first by Sanju Samson, Kohli was troubled by the lines and length of Trent Boult as he looked to cut loose in the early overs of the game.
He even hit a lovely six off Boult in the first over of the game which prompted the commentators to state that it looked like the vintage Virat Kohli had come back after a couple of good innings in the IPL.
However, the onset of Prasidh Krishna brought a breakthrough for Royals from nowhere as Kohli walked off by edging back to the keeper. Explaining the shot, commentator Simon Doull said that it was a nothing shot from the player and he did not need to get out off a short ball that was pitched outside the off stump.
A section of fans reacted to Kohli's dismissal with anger with several suggesting that he go back and fix his technique the old fashioned way, by grinding at the domestic set-up.
I repeat it again. The only way @imVkohli can reclaim his lost form is by playing County cricket. If that's not possible, he shud play Ranji Trophy in India. The good old way of hard grind helped the greats like Gavaskar, Tendulkar, Ganguly etc.#ViratKohli #IPL #IPL2022
