
GMCH doctors successfully conduct pacemaker implantation in 20-day-old infant

In a first in North-East India, GMCH doctors have successfully conducted pacemaker implantation in a 20-day-old infant.
A group of doctors of Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) have successfully conducted pacemaker implantation in a 20-day-old infant at the government-run hospital. GMCH doctors claimed that this is the first time in North-East India that the doctors have conducted pacemaker implantation in an infant as young as 20 days. As per reports, the department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) of GMCH, headed by Dr Amarjyoti Rai Baruah, had conducted the surgery of implantation of permanent epicardial pacemaker in the infant who had been diagnosed with congenital heart block.More Related News
