Giants bringing in Division III quarterback among rookie camp free agents
NY Post
Without a quarterback, there is no ability to throw the ball or hand it off in practice.
And so, with a rookie camp coming soon for the Giants, they knew they had to bring in someone to fill that role.
“You need to bring in a quarterback to operate some seven-on-seven and things that you want to do,’’ coach Brian Daboll said. “We’ll bring someone in, whether that’s tryout or whatever it may be and we’ll go from there.’’
It looks as if one of the quarterbacks the Giants will bring in for a tryout is Liam Thompson, a star at Division III Wabash, aptly named the Little Giants.
Thompson holds the North Coast Athletic Conference record for career yards on offense and he will get to show his stuff on May 10, when the Giants open up their rookie camp.
Depending on whether the Giants bring in another quarterback, Thompson could become the first player to ever throw a pass to first-round pick Malik Nabers in an NFL setting.
