Giants’ Brian Daboll makes Deonte Banks decision for Week 9 after ‘MNF’ benching
NY Post
Deonte Banks’ benching is over.
The Giants will start their 2023 first-round draft pick at cornerback again Sunday against the Commanders, head coach Brian Daboll said Tuesday.
Banks, whose effort has been called out on two occasions this season, played the first 27 defensive snaps in Monday’s loss to the Steelers before he was pulled for the rest of the game.
“I know he certainly will give everything he has,” Daboll said.
There are no plays on film that show Banks easing up rather than chasing a tackle, as he did in Week 3 against the Cowboys’ Ceedee Lamb and in Week 7 against the Eagles’ Jalen Hurts.
He was hurdled by the Steelers’ Najee Harris when he tried to lower a shoulder, and he shoved George Pickens out of bounds before the receiver could get both feet down for a would-be touchdown.
FOXBOROUGH, Mass — From the day he walked into their lives, there wasn’t a soul among the Jets, from top to bottom, who couldn’t stop telling the world how Aaron Rodgers raised the standard of everyone in the building, and how he elevated everyone with his football wisdom and the kind of magical right arm none of them had ever seen.
