Veteran politician Ghulam Nabi Azad launched a scathing attack on the Congress in an exclusive interview with India Today, saying that the party 'character assassinated' him after he quit Congress.
Former JK Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad continued his unsparing attack on Congress in an interview with India Today, saying that the party made false accusations and character assassinated him after he quit Congress, serving for five-decades.
“I was done after writing the letter but what followed was a series of false accusations, character assassination and allegations against me,” Azad said.
Ghulam Nabi Azad also said that the Congress leaders also gave statements against him on social media platforms for ruining his reputation after his exit from Congress.
Veteran politician Ghulam Nabi Azad said that he was dropped as a star campaigner by the Gandhis. “Who should I blame? Rahul Gandhi was the Congress president at the time,” he added.
He added that he had been the star campaigner since the 80s but was dropped from the star campaigner list first time in 40 years.
On being asked why he wrote, 5-page-long letter, Azad said that it was needed. “I wanted to fight but was not given a weapon so I left,” he said.
