In a fiery resignation letter, Azad tore into Rahul Gandhi, claiming that all key decisions in the party were being taken by his security guards and personal assistants.
He blamed Rahul Gandhi for demolishing the consultative mechanism of the party and was appointed as vice president in 2013. He said, "All experienced leaders were sidelined and a new coterie of inexperienced sycophants started running the affairs of the party."
