'Genius dogs' are capable of learning words related to objects: Study
Fox News
Some dogs might be smarter than others.
The nonprofit research project has been studying canine memory as a means to improve dog and human communication. Through a series of experiments, researchers tested their four-legged study participants on whether they recognized toys by name.
"In the context of our study, we found that although most dogs are able to easily learn to associate words to actions, such as sit or down, very few are able to associate words to objects," the Genius Dog Challenge’s Project Manager Shany Dror told Fox News. "We considered dogs with the ability to learn object names as uniquely gifted in this specific field."
