General Motors CEO says autonomous vehicles may be on sale by 2030

GM CEO Mary Barra said GM may start selling autonomous cars by the end of the decade. The vehicles would leverage technology being developed by its Cruise division.
For now, GM's retail customers have to settle for the Super Cruise driver-assist system, which is currently available on the Cadillac Escalade and Bolt EUV and will be offered on 22 models by the end of 2023. Super Cruise is currently capable of driving a vehicle within a lane on a pre-mapped highway and changing lanes in traffic when the driver hits the turn signal, but the driver has to keep their eyes on the road and be ready to take over at a second's notice in case of emergency.
