Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani has become the first Asian to be among the three richest individuals in the world, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Business tycoon Gautam Adani is now the world’s third-richest person after surpassing Louis Vuitton's Bernard Arnault on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
The latest listing on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index shows Gautam Adani in the third spot, behind Amazon's Jeff Bezos and Tesla's Elon Musk. Gautam Adani's net worth has been pegged at USD 137B, followed by Bernard Arnault at USD 136B.
According to reports, this is the first time a person of Asian origin has broken into the top three of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Reliance chief Mukesh Ambani is at the 11th spot in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index with a total USD 91.9 billion worth.
The Bloomberg Billionaires Index is a daily ranking index of the world's billionaires updated at the close of every trading day in New York.
The Adani Group is the third largest conglomerate in India, after Reliance Industries and the Tata Group. The group has its presence in areas such as ports, power, green energy, gas, airports, among others. The Adani Group now plans to foray into the telecom space after it bid for the 5G spectrum.
