
Gauhati University postpones PG, Integrated MCom exams after student protest

Gauhati University has postponed its PG and Integrated MCom exams after students protested against the offline exam.
Following massive protests by the students, Gauhati University has postponed its postgraduate (PG) and Integrated MCom exams. The rescheduled programme of examinations will be published by Gauhati University later on.
A notice issued by the Controller of Examination of Gauhati University on Friday stated: “It is notified for information of all concerned that the scheduled PG and Int. MCom examinations has been postponed. The rescheduled programme will be published later on. This is issued with the approval of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, G.U. dated 28.01.2022.”
The examinations were earlier scheduled to be held from January 29 for which students of the universitystaged sit-in-protest inside the university campus on Friday.
They had expressed unhappiness regarding conducting of offline examinations.
Gauhati University demanded the authority to postpone the offline examination due to a surge of Covid-19 cases in Guwahati and Kamrup (Metro) district.
