In response to petitions filed by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India, the Gauhati High Court on Tuesday quashed the Assam government's SOP of the previous year which had allowed buffalo and bulbul bird fights during a certain time of the year (in January).
The petition was heard by Justice Devashis Baruah in the Gauhati High Court.
