Ganga’s rising water levels bring corpses buried in sand to the surface

Due to continuous rain, the water level of the Ganga river has risen. As a result, corpses that were buried in sand at the banks of the river are rising to the surface. The municipal corporation is cremating these bodies.
As a result of continuous rains, the water level of the Ganga river has risen. The subsequent erosion of the sand at the banks of the river has resulted in bodies that were buried there coming to the surface and getting swept into the river. Thousands of bodies were buried in the sand during the devastating second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. The monitoring committee constituted by the municipal corporation in the area has taken the responsibility of cremating the bodies that are surfacing.More Related News
